Mom and Dad's - 2 - Jan/12 - 5

after Moms market we checked out another one on the way home, lots of lovely things to buy, too bad shipping is so expensive

cute wooden ice box

love, love, love this complete kitchen unit, so many cute cupboards and doors for flour etc...

and as always the day arrives when it's time for me to go home

first a quick visit with Dad

Mom and I went to the cafeteria to buy him the chinese food special

checked out the maternity ward before leaving

David and Margo were born here. turns out the original maternity ward was on the 3rd floor not the 1st, however, the lady told me this was the original display case

then back on the train

then back on a plane, later

Oh here are some pics of some bronze plaques displayed at the hospital from early donators

Mom and Dad's - 2 - Jan/12 - 4

The next day we went back to the hospital

Dale came to visit and he shaved Dad's head for him

the following day I went back to the hospital on my own

I brought fortune cookies for Dad. What are the odds he got the one he did?

I said to Mom, "no worries, have you ever seen anyone crying running out of a chinese restaraunt? they're all good"

that'll teach me, although we got a good chuckle out of it, Dad says, "that one is your Moms, give me another one"

then we went to the market to see whats up and talk to Frankie

Erin met us for lunch at the mexican place we love so much

Mom and Dad's - 2 - Jan/12 - 3

First thing in the morning Dale and I took Snap to the vet. the roads were unthinkable for me to drive. turns out he has a couple of hemmorages in his eye. likely caused from an infection when he was young. all is well, got a double dose vitamin shot, some flea treatment and some eye ointment

we had a fun day with Dad
he was quite excited because he found out it was hamburger day, well this is it!

not very appealing. I went out and got us a proper hamburger, although they were freakin huge

we wheeled him all over the place in this awkward bed chair thing. we found treats and a big screen tv with skiing

Grace came over to the house for a visit when we got home

then we had a black out. if was fine though, Mom had everything ready from flashlights to candles, to treats, to wind up radio, to old plug in phone, very organized

choi for now

Mom and Dad's - 2 - Jan/12 - 2

Next day came the freezing rain. we weren't even sure if we would make it into town to see Dad but by around 10am we realized it would be fine

I had to take a picture of this rock at the hospital, absolutely everything everywhere was completely covered with solid ice, treacherous walking, deadly on sidewalks

we talked about food several times during the day with Dad and by the time we left I had my heart set on Thai food...so we went to our favorite restaraunt to pick it up

we decided to just park at the bank because we couldn't find parking and we knew we would be under 20minutes. well I tell you, whomever writes tickets was certainly watching us because when we came back we had a ticket. turns out it wasn't bank parking at all but private parking!

then I decided to work on the driveway and see if I could at least create a safe spot to get in and out of the car. took 3 days but finally made some headway

look at these two little spots I started with. I asked Chris' advice on how to chip away at the ice. he said you just need to get under it. I didn't know what he was talking about until I started to do it, Oh get under it, easier said than done

I'm so glad I found these Baffin's when I did or I wouldn't have decent winter boots. I bought them for skiing but certainly they are coming in handy or my feet would freeze

I was taking pictures of the icicles for you to see

just before we went to bed we noticed that Snap had a red eye, hmmm, whats that all about
