Savannah Georgia, here we come!

My first guest blogger, yeahhhhhh!!!!!!!

Margo and Johnnie went to Savannah, Georgia and all parts in between

These are at Myrtle Beach

This is Savannah

The shot of John standing beside the colorful bushes in Savannah is where they filmed the scene for Forrest Gump remember.....he's sitting on a park bench talking to an old lady...."life is like a box of cherries......"

The green fountain was done for St.Patricks Day, i.e green water sprouting out. Big time celebrations their for that.

I really liked the spanish moss that draped the trees.

I don't know how well you can see that here. You felt like you were walking through a canopy of trees and moss

These are at Hilton Head Island. My favorite place

Can you see the gator made out of sand?

how fun

Moms and Dad's Mar/12 - 4

So my time has ended again, all too soon but away home I go - NOT

did my usual, back to the train then to the airport. my flight was delayed and little did I know...I was going to be left behind

so off to spend a nice evening with Chris and Erin

I must mention right off the top, Chris made these amazing adirondack chairs and painted them in lovely bright colors. each one a different color. I meant to take a pic but forgot so hopefully he'll share a pic with you individually

but met the little gangsters

heard this little vampire was a neck sucker, so shut my door for the night

back to the airport first thing in the morning, was chauffeured by Erin, yeah

have to say my first class passage made up for being left behind, look how much leg room I have, I'm stretched right out

Mom and Dad's Mar/12 - 3

Sunday was our worst day for eating yet, we are so bad, it all starts with us heading out for Sunday Brunch, here we come

Dad drove and we toured around a bit first

I've always heard the story about when Dad was 9 years old and got hit by lightning. this is the first time I've seen the actual place it happened. Dad was living with his family in a house with no water or electricity. his job was to take the bucket to the neighbours to get water, well guess what happened, the little man was hit by lightning..and so his fear of thunder and lightning began

Dads house was on the left of the treeline
and the house with the water, which is still there on the right. he was hit right here at the treeline

we drove past the Blue Church on the way to Dad's house which was just a block away over the railroad tracks, so tiny and the graveyard is very old, dates way back to the 1700's

we also went to the Battle of the Windmill which took place in November 1838, it was the aftermath of the Upper Canada Rebellion

(guessing it was a windmill at one time)

then onto the good stuff, breakfast

the bridge to the USA is in the background. I was quite surprised, the span is longer than Lions Gate Bridge. who would have thunk this huge bridge would pop out in such a small community

we were all so stuffed when we got home we all had a 2hr nap

when we woke up...

lunch

later...

dinner

after that..

desert

do you see the pattern here?
